For our children an opportunity: To be themselves and develop at their own rate. To express themselves through using art and play materials freely, constructively, and creatively. To learn to be tolerant, creative, cooperative, and imaginative. To learn to be independent - able to solve their own problems and do things for themselves. To enjoy a nursery school experience which will simplify adjustment to elementary school and social situations. To learn to establish close relationships with adults other than their family. To develop better peer relationships. To learn limits of behavior regarding safety, health and respect for the rights of others. To build feelings of self-confidence and security and as acceptance of reality. To extend and enrich their understanding of the world. To increase their ability to handle their emotions constructively.
For Parents, an opportunity: To share our child's first experience away from home. To become more aware of the child's world and understanding his or her behavior, based on knowledge of growth and development processes. To achieve a more positive approach to our child-adult relationships through professional guidance and shared experiences with other parents. To provide a worthwhile outlet for the energies and abilities of the parents outside of the home. To learn techniques of working with children and insight into human relationships through participations in the parent education program. To grow in understanding of the needs of the other adults and the needs of the group.
For the school, we pledge: To provide the best pre-school experience at the lowest possible cost. To utilize the diverse interests and skills of all the parents. To accept, without discrimination, families seeking responsibility of membership. To participate wholeheartedly in membership discussions, presenting our own thoughts openly, and working toward consensus decisions. To maintain the highest possible standards for our nursery school, and by sharing our ideas, work to help raise the standards of all of them.
